Fragments of session 2 - Leuven
A story from my past

| Teacher |
Of course, I could tell you about my parents' divorce or
about the day our fourth child was diagnosed being 'mentally disabled',
but
I'm not going to do that. Instead, I'd like to tell you about something
very
strange that happened to me when I was fifteen. At the time I had
to undergo
two successive operations at my feet, (
)I was taken into the
operating theatre, then
administered an anaesthetic and I remember falling asleep immediately.
Imagine my surprise when some time later I opened my eyes and I
could hear
the surgeon and the nurses talk to one another and I even saw instruments
being passed on above my head. (
)Afterwards they told me I
was a difficult person to
anaesthetize (
)So , next time I have to be anaesthetized I'll
warn the
doctors in advance ...

Are you in the mood for something special? Well, here's my
story...
When I was about 5 years old, I was going for a walk with my little
brother
and sister by the jungle of Singapore, where I lived at that time.
On our
way home, we saw something lying in the middle of the road, it was
black
and looked like a fallen leaf, but when we came near it we saw that
it was a
black snake. My mother had told me the black snakes were very poisonous
and
dangerous. I whispered to my brother and sister that we should start
running
on my sign, I gave the sign and we began running like crazy, we
kept on
running for about 200 meters and we didn't look back. But when we
had done
so we should have seen the snake was actually just staying where
it was.
When I think back of this I have to laugh because I realise
the snake was
probably dead.

I'm going to tell a story that took place about 10 years ago.
I was at my aunt's with my sister. She was riding a hometrainer.
I was 5 years old and I absolutely wanted to ride on it, but my
sister
wouldn't let my. So I found nothing better then putting my thumb
on the
chain (it was a rather old bike so the chain wasn't covered). That
of
course wasn't a smart move. My thumb went up with the chain. Luckily
my
sister(the youngest one->Leen) was smart enough to pedal back
so my thumb
wouldn't fall off totally. We went to the hospital, and there they
stitched
my thumb back on.
