Fragments of session 6 - Cuenca Free session : Valentines´s Day, sweethearts, Carnival etc. Teacher Here is my free e-mail session. I am writing to you about my vacation during Carnival. I've had an amazing vacation, since the first day it was great. I went to the beach with my mother, my brothers (Pepe, Manolo and their families) and my family (Julio, and Alejandra). The place where we went is called Libertad. It's located in the North of Ecuador, 150 kilometers from Cuenca .It took us 5 hours to get there. My mother has a house there. It is not elegant, but it is very confortable and big. Although we are a big family, we like to be together whenever it is possible. There were a lot of people at the beach and also a lot of sun. We really got a nice tan. We ate seafood, which was very delicious by the way. Do you like sea food?. On Sunday we played Carnival with the family and friends with water, flour, and carioca (it is a kind of coloured foam). My mother prepared some dishes typical of the holiday (motepata and tamales). (...) The whole experience was wonderful for all of us. Nevertheless, on Ash Wednesday we had to return home. How was your Valentine's Day? Did you receive greetings and presents on February l4? I did. I had a very nice Valentine's Day with my family. I received a beautiful floral arrangement from my husband. Eulalia (back to top) Students Thanks for your mail, our vacation was fantastic, we went to Galapagos for two days, it was wonderful we took a lot of pictures. Mercy Lina We study in a Catholic high school. It isn't very big, but there are many students (1.200) here. We have to wear a uniform every day. We wear a sweat suit during our P.E. classes. The classes start at 7:30 a.m. and they finish at 1:20 p.m. Our teachers are nice with us, they always give us advice about our future. This is our Senior year here, we are sad because in 5 months more. We're going to graduate and we'll be out from our school. Maris and Maria (back to top) Hi jeroen, I am going to write you about my boyfriend. His name is Mauricio. He is twenty years old. He has two brothers. He studies psychology at the university. I've been with him for two years. He is tall, he has black hair, brown eyes and he is very friendly. I love him so much. I get along well with his parents and brothers. When I am with him we always have a nice time, we do a lot of nice things. We like riding our bikes, going shopping, going dancing, and visiting our friends, etc. He is very sad because I'm going abroad as an exchange student for a year. I hope that we can be together for a long time. Tati (back to top) I want to share something with you. I have two boyfriends. Their names are: Raùl and Pablo. I always have a very beautiful time with them and now I am very confused because I don`t know if I really love Pablo. Raùl usually calls me but I see him as a good friend. I don`t know what I should to do. Criss (back to top) I am writing to you about my carnival vacation. well, I had a very bad time. My family met one another in my uncle's house. We ate chicken and typical food. I didn't leave the city. We used to go to the beach during carnival but this year it wasn't possible to go there. Vero In carnival, I went to Ricaurte, it is a small town, near Cuenca, My family and I always go there on weekends. It is a very nice place. I played Carnival with my family, we used water bombs, "cariocas" (it is a kind of coloured foam.) The weather was nice. We really had 2 weeks off from school after our first quimester. Patty (back to top) One of the typical things to do on Valentine´s day is to go singing at the house of the person you like after mid-night, Our boyfriends did. They called us to invite us for dinner next day. We went out for dinner with them in the evening. They gave us a floral arrangement. We really had a very nice time. We talked about many things during the dinner. We went back home at 11:30. Anshie and Kari (back to top) On Friday, the 3 of us decided to go to the movies!. On saturday we got together at 2:00 in Paola´s house and we went walking to the theater, when we got there we decided to see a movie called "Harry Potter" it is a movie about a kid that is a wizard. The movie was great but we had lots lots of fun because we couldn´t stop laughing and when we were coming out of the theater our stomachs hurt because we laughed that much. Then we went to the ice-cream shop to eat an ice-cream. Monica and paola (back to top) I am going to tell you something about my best friend. Her name is Andrea Zuñiga, we have been classmates since we were in kindergarden. She is shorter than me, she has blond hair and green eyes. We have had a lot of nice moments together, like our first boyfriend and our birthdays. Now she is in the United States, in Pensilvania, because she is an exchange student. I miss her a lot. We write each other every day, and she tells me how the city where she is living is. Can you believe that se doesn't go to parties over there! Christina (back to top) On February 14, he came over to my house and and sang a song to me while I was sleeping and the following day he called and told me that the song was written for me. Magu (back to top) I have a friend from Switzerland. She loves salsa music and she´s learning to dance it. She told me that her friends didn´t know to dance it and she´d want that her friends learn to dance salsa. Somebody went to my house at 2 am in the mornig to give me a serenade; but at the same time my boyfriend got there. He was jealous and there was a big problem in the street. They were fighting to one another. You can imagine how I felt that morning. Danny (back to top) We all have boyfriends but I'm planning to get married.
